TKP Creative Mentorship Program
What do you want to do? Go do it.
Tricha passes it forward.
In 2020, Tricha launched a mentorship program for South Asians around the world who are interested in a creative career or joining an entertainment industry, but don't know where to begin. This program is designed to help mentees learn the “hard soft skills” of navigating careers that don’t come with a corporate ladder. Prospective mentees are of South Asian origin, are early career or pivoting, and can be based anywhere in the world.
Apply here for the Fall/Winter mentorship session!
About the Program
Through this experiential, hands-on program, mentees work directly with Tricha to gain insight into the entertainment industry, build their portfolios, and manage their own personal and professional development. Mentees have the opportunity to participate in a selection of projects in the creative and entertainment spaces where they can learn new skills, flex existing ones, and understand how it all works together. For those looking to apply this towards college internship credit, some adjustments can be made.
Projects may include:
documentary & narrative films
film production & festivals
grant writing
graphics & visuals
website building
marketing & branding
business management
Mentees may obtain:
professional development training
personal development sessions
opportunities to learn new skills
potential film credit
flexibility to choose projects
insights into the entertainment industry
expanded community & network
Tricha is looking for applicants with strong communication skills who take ownership of and pride in their work. Those who have flourished beyond the program possess an eye for detail, project and time management abilities, and a demonstrated drive to succeed.
Former mentees have gone on to experience success in various roles, including: producer, festival programmer, series regular on Indian TV shows, film director, Gotham Fellow, actor in national commercials, Academy Gold Rising member, talent/production for Drunk Bollywood Live, and founder of a 6-figure business. Several mentees have moved to NYC, LA, or Mumbai following the program, equipped with financial plans and career strategies.
