TRICH GIFs
In response to stereotyped images under Indian search terms she saw online, Tricha launched TrichGIFs, a project to create digital “stickers” that authentically represent different South Asian cultures. In the first month, the inaugural launch of 5 Bhangra GIFs reached over one million views internationally, with the entire project amassing over 350+ million views to date.
At a time where the internet decides visibility, diversity online is critical. TrichGIFs are the internet’s first widely accessible GIF series that accurately portray South Asian dress, dance, and culture. Currently, over 100 Bhangra, Bharatanatyam, Garba, and Diwali TrichGIFs are available on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and more!
