Dance
Tricha is an international choreographer and globally trained dancer. Her dance work has been seen in films, commercials, music videos, award shows, multinational productions, and celebrity performances.
She is trained in 9 styles of dance:
Bharatanatyam
One of the oldest dances on the planet, Bharatanatyam is a classical South Indian form that blends emotion, melody, and rhythm. It uses Mudras, hand gestures, and Abhinaya, facial expressions, to convey a story.
Garba
A traditional Gujarati dance performed in community, danced in concentric circles around a female deity. It involves clapping, intricate footwork, and twirling as the group moves in unision.
Bhangra
A Punjabi folk dance to celebrate the arrival of spring and the harvest season. Bhangra draws from many regional dance influences, including phummanian, jhummar, luddi, dhamaal, and often uses props.
Raas
A Gujarati folk dance performed with dandiya, a pair of sticks that are twirled and hit together to make a rhythm. Dancers line up in pairs and switch partners after each pattern of beats.
Bollywood
One of the most adaptive dances in the world, Bollywood takes inspiration from the moment. With its far origins in classical storytelling, Bollywood's distinct system of movement makes it universally recognizable.
Bachata
A Dominican dance form that emerged in the 60s. Inspired by son and bolero rhythms, bachata is danced to 5-instrument bands. Versions of the dance today include traditional, moderna, and sensual.
Salsa
Originating in New York, salsa is a mixture of different influences, including cha-cha, son, pachanga, and Afro-Cuban. Often performed with on1 or on2 timing, salsa is danced both solo and with a partner.
Kizomba
Kizomba emerged during the Portuguese occupation of Angola. With semba, African, and European influences, it is a very smooth, graceful style of dance with controlled hip movement and partner connection.
Afro-Rumba
Rumba is a folkloric dance that blends African rhythms with Spanish influences. It involves energetic, full-body movement that tells the stories of the Orishas, divine spirits of the Yoruba religion.
Commercial
Commercial dance exists beyond the rules of any particular style or form, often blending multiple to create a cohesive piece. Commercial choreography is created for performances, shoots, and entertainment.

“I have never seen such a synchronization anywhere.”

Bhangra Specialty
Originally performed by men, Bhangra is one of India’s most popular dances, known for its percussion rhythm, its strength, and its emphasis on joy. Despite its massive popularity, Bhangra is often misrepresented and incorrectly performed in mainstream film and culture.
In 2017, Tricha became the Bollywood film industry’s first and only trained Bhangra choreographer. In addition to her work in Bollywood as a female leader of a male-dominated dance form, she also conducted training programs and workshops across India.
